Introduction to First Baptist School

First Baptist Schools is a ministry of First Baptist
Church. We believe in
and practice the traditional educational values that made America great.
We believe in patriotism and free enterprise and that the Bible is
our only rule for faith and practice.
The elementary curriculum is geared to
challenge the average student with
strong emphasis on the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic. The
phonics program begins in pre-kindergarten and
produces no non-readers. First Baptist's mathematics program offers
a balance between the "old" and "new" math.
Because of shifting values in our society, First Baptist Schools offers to
you, as parents, an alternative educational program which emphasizes love
of God and country, traditional moral values and character training.
To Provide Christ-Centered Education ...
We believe that the educational institution must not only provide a
Christian atmosphere and classes in Bible study, but also relate all
secular knowledge to Biblical truth.
To Achieve High Academic Standards ...
We offer an educational program that emphasizes the basic fundamentals of
education. We believe that our children should acquire the ability
to read
with comprehension, spell correctly, write accurately, speak clearly and
compute precisely. We also believe Christian teachers in traditional
classrooms play an integral part in quality education.
To develop High Spiritual And Moral Standards ...
It is our desire to instill in each child a personal commitment to high
spiritual and moral standards. We want to reverse the recent trend
in our
country of lowering standards, caused by the absence of God's Word from
educational and discipline programs.
First Baptist offers two kindergarten programs. The pre-kindergarten
is
for four year olds. The three-day a week program is a learning
experience where children are exposed to basic phonics, numbers and
counting, and foundational skills, such as penmanship, which equips the
child for the kindergarten program.
The five year old kindergarten program
meets all day - five days a week.
The children learn to read through a strong phonetic reading curriculum;
they learn addition and subtraction facts, penmanship and a variety of
other important skills.
Children must be 4 or 5 respectively by September 1st to enroll in the
kindergarten programs.
Because of the importance of elementary education to the future success
of the child, First Baptist places a strong emphasis on a solid educational
foundation. A Christ-centered curriculum coupled with dedicated and
responsive teachers provides the best possible learning environment for the
success of your child. Course study includes: English, Mathematics,
Reading, Science, Social Studies, Health, Music, Bible, plus many extras.
First Baptist offers a balanced secondary academic program with a variety
of elective and extra curricular activities. Included in the program
are
advanced mathematics and science, speech and drama, band and choir, as well
as a range of varsity athletics.
Enrollments are accepted at the school office located at 14400 Diamond Path
West, Rosemount, Minnesota. An application form must be filled out
and
registration fees paid before school begins. For further information
about
enrollment and programs, call the school office at (651) 423-2271 or send us
e-mail.
Dear Parents,
It is our goal to provide a school with a distinctively Christian
philosophy. We want a school where Bible study and prayer are not
viewed
as something too controversial, perhaps illegal, but are as much a part of
student life as eating and breathing. We want a school built upon
the
foundation of God and His Word, not ignoring Him, leaving Him out. We
desire to relate all truth to the Truth. We want a school which is
academically excellent, emphasizing the basic skills of reading, math and
English, upon which all further study must be based. We want young
people
with respect for authority, good manners, clean lives, cheerful attitudes
and a love for America and her flag.
We reject the philosophy of education which permits, or perhaps fosters
humanism, socialism, the teaching of evolution as fact and an improper
approach to sex education.
I'm sure that you are concerned about these things too, and about building
a better America. And I'm sure you will be pleased with our program
if you
desire quality education in a Christian environment. We care about
children enough to give them our best. Call me if I can be of any
service to you (651-423-2271).
